Marelli is the largest office furniture company on the Brazilian market. Established in 1987 in the city of Caxias do Sul, the company has always been distinguished by an entrepreneurial and cutting-edge vision supported by a sustainable management model and focused on human talent. Marelli is currently located in Brazil and other countries in South America.

What we did

Motivation

Marelli realized the relevance of becoming data-driven for growth. The company used an ERP system for industry management and product registration, however, it did not have a centralized data system to gather images, videos and sales content with industrial data. This was making it difficult to implement new processes and systems such as e-Commerce, website, sales tools and CRMs.

Goal

Developing a web platform to work as a single database where all systems would be connected via APIs, allowing the data to be obtained from the same source. This platform has been called "Middle" since it receives all the data from the ERP and also other important or correlated data entered manually, which will supply all the tools and digital systems of the company in a quick and simplified way.

Challenge

The great challenge was, on one hand, to understand all the dynamics of data loading in the ERP - that is, the industrial process of the company. On the other hand, to associate these same data to the new required fields so that all the platforms and systems that the company was developing for the next 3 years would be integrated, such as e-Commerce, sales systems, etc. An extensive UX work has been made and executed for two months in order to have a better understanding of all the personas and user needs.

Conclusion

It is possible to consider Middle Marelli a digital asset management (DAM), which supplies all the company's digital systems, making it the only data source that connects with other applications through APIs. In addition, it is a database where users have access to all necessary types of content to support marketing, communication and commercial actions. (images, videos, texts, reports, etc.).
